TACO TUESDAY – THE ORIGINAL WAY – a unique online incentive for Coca-Cola Germany employees.
Challenging times call for innovative and creative thinking. As the Covid-19 pandemic still defines our everyday lives and how people have interacted with each other in 2020 and beyond, CLY redefined the term “coming together” in a fresh and digital way for our customer, Coca-Cola Germany.
Given the current situation, all of Coca-Cola Germany’s employees have been working from home since March 2020. Coming together is currently not possible on a larger scale – and that’s why CLY had to think outside the box to create a special team-building experience for the employees.
CLY brought together those who are currently separated: Coca-Cola’s employees. This time not in real life but in a digital context: an innovative live cooking experience called TACO TUESDAY – THE ORIGINAL WAY.
To make this happen, CLY created an immersive online digital event including a true Coca-Cola Original: testimonial chef Miguel Zaldivar, owner of Mexiko Strasse – one of the best Mexican restaurants in Hamburg.
Miguel hosted a cooking livestream alongside two Coca-Cola employees. He showed them and all the participants at home how to cook two of his signature tacos. Furthermore, he also shared some of his secret insights into making the perfect guacamole and matching drinks: original margaritas.
As part of the in-house activation, CLY created a micro-website for all employees to sign up for TACO TUESDAY – THE ORIGINAL WAY. Once registered, they received a food box delivered to their home including all ingredients needed for the live cooking event. Extras such as a cocktail shaker and ice cube tray were also added to serve margaritas The Original Way. And it wouldn’t be a Coca-Cola event without the iconic Coca-Cola Contour Bottle – that’s why two Coke glass bottles were included in the food box. Special attention was paid to hygienic measures regarding Covid-19 and to the sustainable packaging of the boxes.
CLY offered Coca-Cola a 360° team-building experience – including idea creation, implementation, logistics, guest management, coordination of the box deliveries and on-set assistance.
The workshop was livestreamed from a fully equipped studio kitchen in Berlin’s Mitte district and was recorded and edited live on-site by a production company from Berlin. To provide a stable and reliable connection. CLY chose YouTube Live as the streaming platform.
During the livestream the participants were able to speak by way of an internal communication tool and could ask the chef, Miguel Zaldivar, questions that were answered right away during the stream. The participants shared pictures of their kitchen set-ups, cooking their meals and the results from their original dishes. Generating in Coca-Cola’s employees a feeling of coming together as a team and connecting, while still keeping everyone safe, was a life-enhancing experience and a privilege. Getting the incredible feedback about this incentive event from all the staff was an honour and made this online digital event a very special one for us all.
CLY are proud to have collaborated with Coca-Cola on this online experiential event as well as on many other occasions. Have a look at the Coca-Cola Influencer campaign, the Coca-Cola Food Festival and the Coca-Cola Fashion Week event to see other projects we have created together.
